Product field Optical Communication Systems and POF Data Communication DieMount intends to offer its customers complete system solutions for the setup of data networks in the home via optical polymeric fiber, POF. We have system solutions for data networks in apartments and small single-family homes (apartment networks) as well as for multiple dwelling houses (intra building networks). With the introduction of pluggable and modular POF transceivers (so called POF SFP transceivers) DieMount opens POF users access to the wide variety of network modules with SFP ports from the glass fiber world. A special highlight
of our
data transmission products are the Optospider™ media
converters
for optical fiber data transmission via optical polymer fiber (POF). In
an Ethernet network (IEEE 802.3u) the media converter connects a
100Base-TX twisted pair copper cable to a polymer optic fiber (POF). The Optospider™ startset comprises all means to realize with low effort a 100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet data network in your private home. For home applications we developed a completely new type of mediaconverter, the Optospider™ DMMC family. These media converters do not require an external power supply unit, but are power supplied via the PC USB port and the network cable (passive PoE). If the PC is switched off, there is no useless power consumption in the media converter. |
